This manual provides essential guidelines for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of [Manufacturer Name] dry-type transformers. Designed for indoor/outdoor use, these transformers are non-flammable, environmentally friendly, and require minimal maintenance. Always adhere to local electrical codes and safety regulations.
WARNING:
De-energize the transformer before installation or maintenance.
Only qualified personnel with electrical expertise should perform operations.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) including insulated gloves and goggles.
Avoid exposure to moisture, dust, or corrosive substances.
Do not overload the transformer beyond its rated capacity.
Verify the transformer’s nameplate data (voltage, kVA rating, frequency).
Check for shipping damage. Report issues to the supplier immediately.
Install in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperature between -30°C to +40°C.
Maintain clearance distances:
≥ 300 mm from walls or obstructions.
≥ 500 mm above/below for airflow.
Ensure the floor can support the transformer’s weight (see Technical Specifications).
Follow wiring diagrams provided on the terminal box or in Appendix A.
Tighten terminals to the torque specified in Table 1.
Ground the transformer using a copper conductor (min. 10 mm² cross-section).
Confirm all connections are correct and secure.
Remove temporary protective covers.
Energize the transformer without load for 24 hours to detect abnormalities.
Gradually apply load in increments (≤20% per hour).
Monitor temperature:
Class F insulation: Max. 155°C (hotspot).
Use infrared thermography for periodic checks.
Ensure audible noise levels remain below 75 dB(A).
Monthly: Inspect for dust accumulation, loose connections, or corrosion.
Annually: Perform insulation resistance tests (min. 100 MΩ at 5000V DC).
Use dry compressed air (<0.3 MPa) or a soft brush.
Never use liquids or solvents.
